Vancouver, not BC / WA, not DC

As I said in my last post, I visited my sister(s) in Vancouver last weekend. Here are some photos from that trip.

My sister, Katy.

My youngest niece, Keira (2 1/2), playing with their new kitty, Mojo.

My sister, Alissa, my nephew, Callum (6), and my niece, Bridget (11).

My niece, Jocelyn (7... 8 next month), showing me her Science Fair Project regarding "Static."

Although it was a cold and rainy day, Katy and I ventured out to the Oregon Zoo.

The new baby elephant born at the zoo last September.

Sea lions... they were so big but so cute!

Beautiful polar bears!

This is how I measure up to the different types of bears...

Channeling a little Dick Van Dyke ala Mary Poppins. :)

Even though it was raining, this tiger was still out to see us.

After the zoo, Katy and I detoured to "Voodoo Doughnut" in Portland. After seeing a couple of Food Network shows over the last several weeks that featured this place, we went to find it and buy their unique doughnuts.

These are the ones I bought, including the classic "Voodoo" with raspberry (blood) filling. For my carnivore, Monico, I bought the maple bar with bacon. They were all good, save and except the cereal one, which had gone stale.

Thanks again to my sisters for their hospitality!

Woa. You're brave. I don't think I could eat a doughnut with bacon on top.

I agree with Abbie. I have heard of chocolate covered bacon, but not of a donut topped with bacon. Love to see all of the animals. Your zoo looks a lot cooler than the SLC Hogle zoo. Bridget looks so grown-up in that picture--such a Schwartz! Looks like you had a lot of fun.

What a fun weekend! The doughnuts look, um, interesting? I can't believe how much Alissa looks like your mom. She surely has some cute kids.

I have never heard of bacon on top of a donut! I love the little gingerbread one!
